GRACE
Soft Ground Exhibtion|17-18.12.25

Delighted that Grace was selected for the Soft Ground exhibition at The Annex gallery in London. This is a narrative environment that explores the life cycle of a South London house, from a home, to an empty shell and then a refurbished commodity on the property market. The work also serves as a personal tribute to a beloved neighbour from my formative years in New Cross.

On Saturday July 19th London Quick City screened in the ‘best of’ evening selection at the International Experimental Fiction Filmmaking Festival in Manchester.
Congratulations to Pavel Prokopič and the team for a wonderful event that included great experimental shorts from across the world. We were excited by the work of Ershova Alexandra (Multiple Stories) and Hippolyte Laveix (Pluto in Aquarius).
Thanks again to Tom and Steph for their hospitality and support.

Berlin Screening | 13.04.24

London Quick City was selected for the Berlin Filmgarten Film Festival, winning an Audience Award. It was a fitting first festival screening, as Adam Marshall, the film’s running man, lives in the city. It was great to see Adam and his family there – plus so many friends and supporters.
Congratulations to the organisers for an exciting, experimental and global selection of films.

LONDON QUICK CITY
Launch Screening | 14.11.24

London Quick City enjoyed a fitting, buzzy launch screening at the Garden Cinema in Covent Garden. Both directors were present alongside titles designer, Elle Golding, and poster designer, Joan Yang.
Omar Naguib led the Q & A, which celebrated the music of Neale Purton and Adam Wood. There was much discussion of Super 8, its aesthetic and the way the 5 minute cartridges shaped the shooting process. It was also the perfect venue to showcase the inspired sound design work of Alex Collinson.

A great final mix session at Coda Post working with Saul Rivers. So good to hear the design work of Alex Collinson through the speakers. Now on to the poster, trailers, marketing and distribution. Thanks again to the team at Coda Post Production.

FOUND! event
British Library | 11.4.24
This event at the British Library marked the moment when my pilot project completed its journey .
Initially a final year MA Narrative Environments project, the aim of Found! is to create a space in which stories from a local community are explored and extended through the rich resources of the British Library.
The Found! evening gave us the opportunity to discuss how this film based conversation, between the Hillview Estate in Kings Cross and the Library can be developed in innovative and accessible ways. How can we create more dialogue and elevate the voices and experiences of local people within the spaces of this cultural institution.
The evening also allowed us to celebrate the British Library’s new community space, The Last Word, situated in the piazza on Euston Road.
